Click on "Add" on the Manage Blog Pages page (Click on "PAGES" under "MAIN MENU") to add a new blog page. Creating a new blog page will take three steps, or you can use the Page Quick Start.

Click on Add

Step 1:

Page name: This refers to the actual name of the HTML file (for example: about.html or naturephotos.html). Your default blog page must remain index.html and you can not have more than one blog page named index.html

Blog name: Here is where you can give your blog a name - this is often referred to as the blog title as well. For instance: Pelei's Photos, or The Shepstone Family. Make this something personal to you and the photographs you will be sharing.

Template: Next, select a template for your blog page. The drop down list consists of any pre-designed templates you have imported or any templates you have created. For more information on importing templates and creating templates, please refer to "Templates"

Meta tags: Meta tags are used for many things including improving search engine results for your blog page as well as claiming your profiles from photoblogs.org. (For more on this, please refer to: How do I claim my profile from photoblogs.org? )

The meta tag window defaults to include the following:
<meta name="description" content="My Description" />
You can replace the text "My Description" with a description of your blog page.

Other common meta tags are:
<meta name="keywords" content="keywords about your site">
<meta name="author" content="your name here">

Page is Private: If you check this option, we will not display your blog page on our homepage under our "Recently Updated" or "Recently Commented On" areas. Your blog page will also remain off our member directories.

Now, click on "Next"

Step 2:

Number of Entries to Display: This determines the number of blog entries that will show on your main blog page before the entries are kept within the archives only.

Archive Type: You have the option to display your archives as thumbnails or text only. This means that when your archives are viewed they will either be shown as thumbnails of your entry image, or text titles (based from the title of your entry). If you do not title an entry, but select "Text Only", a few lines from the body of your blog will be used.

Thumbnail Columns: If you do select "Thumbnails" as your Archive Type, you can set the number of columns those thumbnails will be displayed in here.

Quick note:
Do ensure that the number of columns you select will fit within the blog template you have chosen.

Thumbnail Width: This is the maximum width for your thumbnails. If your entry image is horizontal, this number will be the number of pixels your thumbnail will be resized to horizontally.

Thumbnail Height: This is the maximum height for your thumbnails. If your entry image is vertical, this number will be the number of pixels your thumbnail will be resized to vertically.

Use Square Thumbnails: By checking this option, the Expressions system will resize your thumbnails into squares based on the widest height or width set above. For example, if you set the width to 100 and set the height to 50, and check "Use Square Thumbnails", your thumbnails will be sized to 100x100.

Quick note:
The thumbnail height, width and option to "Use Square Thumbnails" only applies if you do not upload your own thumbnail image.

Step 3:

Disable Comments: Check this option if you do not want to allow anyone to leave comments on your blog.

Allow Anonymous Comments: Check this option if you want to allow visitors to leave comments on your blog without leaving their email. This will mean that you will not have a way to contact the commenter if you need.

Receive Email Notification: Check this option if you want to receive an email notification when someone leaves a comment on your blog.

Notification Email: Input the email address you want notifications of comments to be sent to.

Now click, "Finish"
