Banning IP's

What is an IP?

An IP is an address that uniquely identify a computer on the Internet (sort of like your home address tells people how to find your house, the IP address tells computers how to find other computers).

Why should you ban an IP?

Banning IP's is used to prevent unwanted visitors to your site. You may experience someone visiting your site that you don't want seeing what you post, or perhaps someone leaves an unwanted comment and you don't want them to have the ability to comment on your blog anymore. This is when you would ban their IP and we will ensure that they can't visit or comment on your site.

How do I ban an IP?

You are able to ban IP addresses from commenting on your site, or from viewing your site completely. You can either select "Ban Comments" to ban people from commenting on your blog, or you can "Ban Pages" which will ban people from seeing your blog pages completely. When someone comments to your blog you will receive an email notification of their comment along with their IP address. You can copy the IP address from the email and paste it into the "Add Banned IP" box. Then click on "Add" to complete the ban. If you want, you can "unban" the IP by clicking on "Delete" next to the IP you have added to your banning list.
